Morning Comes Too Soon

I'm tired this morning.  I did that thing where I sleep but I'm sort of aware of it which isn't restful in the least.  It is Friday though.  A few hours at the bank and I'll be able to come home and have two days away from it all.

Yesterday I used one of those special cleaning pads to remove the scuff marks from the walls and it was totally awesome in the kitchen.  It really reduced all the mess that existed from moving in and made the place brand new.  Yesterday, I also watched a show where they took out an old slate stoop and replaced with cobblestone and blue stone.  They had to use rebar in the concrete and it was totally cool.  I could spend hours breaking apart an old step.  It looked really fun.  DESTRUCTION FOR EVERYONE!

And now for the vacation countdown: 15 days!!

Did you order Girl Scout cookies this year?  What kind?

I ordered no Girl Scout cookies this year because I've been working on losing weight and cookies in the house would just be too much of a temptation.  I haven't really missed them but I'm not a huge sweets person unless you count my love of sweet tea.  I do have some ginger snaps in the cupboard in case of emergencies and occasionally I have two for snack.  They're Kroger Scout Cookies.

I'm pretty exhausted.  I'm grounded enough to know that I am tired but less tired and more fortunate than many other people.  It's not 12 hours worth of work but 9-10 hours at my job right now seems plenty.  I haven't met any routines when I get home.  I know this is so whiny but it's been so important to me to build the habits of exercising and straightening and cleaning when I get home that it's annoying that it's near impossible to even make dinner before 8 PM right now.  Tonight, I'm spending hopefully 10 min. at the most (and hopefully I can get in there before 5 PM) on work stuff and going home.  And tomorrow, Friday, I'm leaving at 4.  And I'm just babbling tiredly so I'll stop.  Anyhow, the end is in sight...because it is TIME FOR THE VACATION COUNT DOWN: 16 DAYS!

What was your favorite game to play at recess in grade school?
Submitted by Elisheva Chana.

I liked to jump rope.  Also, Ghostbusters were all the rage when I was like seven.  So I think we pretended a lot of that.  Just don't cross the streams or you'll blow up the whole playground.  Dodgeball and four square were pretty hip too.  I went to a school that actually didn't have any playground equipment so you basically had a field with grass and asphalt.  I'm surprised we had balls.  Here kid enjoy your stick.  I SAID ENJOY YOUR STICK!  Did I mention I went to Catholic School with the plaid dresses and everything?  So it would have been more like THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU TO ENJOY YOUR STICK!

As far as a me update, I'm exhausted.  I feel like everything we cleaned so far has been destroyed by the fact we had to throw everything off the floor so they can clean the carpets.  And, I'm spending far too much time at work these next couple days for people that I really feel don't appreciate me.  The good news is Bill has jumped in and make wonderful magic like getting everything off the floor in my absence (I rolled in at 8 PM last night).  He busted out lots of chores and went over and beyond.  It's really really nice.  I'm hovering in an 11-12 lb. loss right now for my Weight Watchers.  I'm not really expecting things to just shed right now so I'm comfortable with that.  I haven't been very hobby oriented these last couple weeks...oh I did try to play some Twilight Princess last night and got lit on fire...and gave up but not in the way that would cause me to put it in time out.  I was probably just too tired.  So instead, I played Donkey Kong Country which was fun until I passed out.  I think Bill is awake but he's like stalking around super secret making noise.  BILL GHOST!  Okay time to get ready for work.

Which household chores do you most/least enjoy?
Submitted by falcon.kmc.

Oh, I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate doing dishes.  I have this weird phobia of touching people's plates after eating.  I have to be careful when I complete that one.  Ugh.  Yuck.  I also despise cleaning our shower because of the glass doors.  This is why I have a husband.  He is SHOWER MASTER.

I love cleaning the kitchen.  Overall, I don't think there's one chore but it's just so gratifying and it's where you make your food so having it really clean just gives one a sense of purity.  I'm also not vacuum adverse.

I'm feeling better this morning but I should have stayed in bed longer so I might be back there in a little bit.  We decided to hold off errands until next weekend but are going to do chores and household fun stuff.  Well 'fun' stuff.  The carpet cleaners come Tuesday so we have to have it semi-spiff in here.

What are your three favorite snacks?
Submitted by Sunscreem.

My three favorite snacks are:

- Chocolate/Peanut Butter Ice Cream
- Guacamole
- Carrots (Yes, I know I am weird)

It's 1:30 am and I am in pain so I can't sleep.  I'm organizing my World of Warcraft bars in an extremely minimalistic and clean fashion just to keep my mind off.  Also, I am too lazy to try to switch the TV so I'm watching some bizarre cartoon.  I feel like I need to take it easy but I can't stop.  I have too many plans and things to do by April that I have to push through it tomorrow.  I'll douse myself in four Ibuprofin and move on with life.

QotD: Totally Obsessed

What is your current obsession(s)?
Submitted by eijsr.

Right now I'm on a bit of a World of Warcraft kick.  I generally play it but some months I am interested in it more than others.  In addition, I love numbers and points and not only do I have Weight Watchers but I found another system for attributing points to things I do daily that gives me happy number fun.  Clearly, there is an occupation waiting to be discovered in this area for me.

I'm also a bit fond of the Wii right now.  It took me a while to warm up to it but the ability to play old games has greatly helped.  On top of that, I'm about to work on some house upkeep stuff like hanging curtains and putting in one of those round shower rods in the bathroom like hotels have.  My renewed interest in the house is happy.

Umm, I'm sure my obsessions are more than that but that's all the further my brain works at 10:20 PM on a Friday.  I tried to impart some great wisdom but my wisdom is broken.

Have you ever secretly unwrapped a gift before the big day?
Submitted by Red Pen.

No, I don't go seeking out my presents or hints for Christmas.  For as much as I dislike surprises, I am surprisingly patient about getting to open presents when I know they're not going to be handed to me.  What I am terrible at is holding on to presents.  When I have the perfect gift in hand, I want th e person to see it so much because it's so good that if I got it May 3rd it's difficult to wait until May 3rd.

It is Friday before a four day holiday break and I have to wrangle into work.  Oh please please please please let me out early today.  I am full of Christmas spirit so I need to go home kthnxbye.

Slow Morning

I'm having a slow sort of morning this morning.  I've been feeling kind of sick through this weekend.  This morning I'm mostly better save for needing more sleep and dehydration which I'm working on fixing.  I've decided to leave for work thirty minutes later to give me time to put myself together.  I figure it's better than staying home a whole day.
